Armed extremist apprehended by army

GUWAHATI: In continuation of sustained operations against militants and in bringing peace and tranquility in the Karbi Anglong region, troops of the Red Horns Division deployed in East Karbi Anglong apprehended one armed extremist from Lahorijan in a joint operation with Assam Police, a defence source said.

Based on intelligence received regarding presence of one armed extremist in Lahorijan, Army and Assam Police launched a joint operation that resulted in apprehension of one armed extremist, recovery of five factory made .22mm pistols and ammunition.
