Lone scout from Tura to participate in regional conference in Philippines

TURA: Scripting history for Garo Hills in general and the West Garo Hills Bharat Scouts and Guides in particular, a lone scout from Tura is set to participate in the 26th Asia Pacific Regional Scouts’ Conference to be held from October 15 to 20 at Manila in the Philippines.

Terang B Marak from Tura who works as a Forester in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) will be representing the West Garo Hills Bharat Scouts and Guides in the international event. In the recent past, Tengrang had led young scouts and guides to participate in different National events.

Speaking on Marak’s selection the District Secretary of the West Garo Hills Bharat Scouts and Guides, Lenin R Marak said, “Tengrang’s participation in such a big event abroad is a pride and joy for the people of Garo Hills as well as for the members of the WGHBSG. The door is open to all members who are willing to strive to be selected to attend such events. They too can participate in the future”.

The conference under the theme ‘Growth and Stability’ is being held at the International Convention Centre located in the Philippine Capital Manila.
