MPCA to seek SC’s nod for opting out of Aadhar enrolment

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya People’s Committee on Aadhar (MPCA) will study the possibility   of filing and/ joining in filing Review Petition before a larger Bench of the Supreme Court seeking the court’s approval for opting out of Aadhar enrolment.

The MPCA held a meeting on Monday at the Khasi National Durbar Hall, Mawkhar, resolved to initiate the “opting out of Aadhar enrolment” campaign.

The opt-out campaign will be particularly of those 1564 persons who had written to UIDAI and submitted representation before Supreme Court to be allowed to opt out/ withdraw from Aadhaar enrolment and many others who wish to opt out as per recent SC Ruling.

The MPCA said the people who wished to opt out of Aadhar can approach the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Central Office at Jaiaw, Shillong on Monday, October 29, 2018.
