NONGSTOIN: Bantibor Kharthangmaw of Kynjo Mawlong of Nongliput village under West Khasi Hills was arrested after he allegedly raped a 32-year-old woman of the same village.
Sources said that he had raped her twice – first on June 20 around 7pm while she was breastfeeding her child in the verandah of her house but the matter was settled amicably after the accused’s mother promised to mend his ways.
The second incident happened on October 12 while she was cutting firewood in the jungle. A case was registered against the accused and he was forwarded to the Court.
