SHILLONG: A multi state mock exercise on earthquake disaster will be conducted simultaneously in all the districts of Meghalaya. The orientation and coordination conference will be held on October 23 followed by table top exercise on October 30 and mock exercise on the next day.
The aims and objectives of the mock exercise are to review disaster management plans of the state, to highlight the role and responsibilities of various stakeholders and enhance coordination among emergency support functions at district level, to general public awareness by involvement of local bodies , NGOs and community and others.
