Temporary pandal for Balat devotees

SHILLONG: The Durga temple in Balat which was damaged by soil erosion along the river Umngi two months ago has not been repaired yet.
Mawsynram MLA, HM Shangpliang said there is no action from the Government yet on repairing of the temple which was constructed in 1948.
Shangpliang said this year, Durga puja was held on the banks of the river in a temporary pandal.
Shangpliang visited the Balat puja pandal during Durga puja to greet the people and he visited all the seven puja pandals along the border falling under his constituency and greeted the people. The MLA visited puja pandals at Pataghat, Ryngku, Lalpani, Purnonagar, Dangar Nongkriah and Sonatola.
