SHILLONG: The Syiem of Hima Khyrim, Smit has announced that the Nongkrem Dance, the annual thanksgiving festival of the Hima, will be celebrated on November 11 and 12.
In a statement issued here, the Syiem of Hima Khyrim said the annual dance of ceremonies, music and dances is a cultural heritage of the Khasi community and also displays the wealth of Khasi culture.
He called upon the people of the state as well as from outside to visit Smit and witness the premier cultural festival of Meghalaya.
