SHILLONG: Former KHADC chief PN Syiem will be the lone member in the opposition as all the PDF MDCs, including Grace Mary Kharpuri, have extended their support to the Khasi Hills Democratic Alliance (KHDA).
KHADC chief executive member HS Shylla said on Wednesday the MDCs are extending support to the issues such as lineage bill and Inner Line Permit (ILP).
Kharpuri wrote to the KHADC chief extending support to the ruling coalition in the council. She was also a contender for the post of CEM and had earlier alleged that the election to the post was not conducted as per the rules.
The two-day special session will start from Thursday. The KHADC will table the Khasi Social Custom of Lineage (Amendment) Bill, a bill on the Sub-Ordinate Council of Traditional Chief and Headmen Rules and KHADC building bylaws. It will move a resolution on ILP.
