SHILLONG: Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot on Thursday said the ministry provides regular funding to NGOs working for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) provided they work according to the norms. Reacting to a query about NGOs not receiving central funds, Gehlot said the ministry usually approves the correct proposals from organisations without any queries.
“Some NGOs send us proposals without following the guidelines and it often leads to delays,” he said while maintaining that the ministry provides regular funding to all the NGOs.
