Khandu inaugurates dialysis unit at Tawang hospital

GUWAHATI: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Pema Khandu on Sunday  inaugurated a new dialysis unit at Khandro Drowa Tsangmu district Hospital Tawang. Started under Prime minister’s national dialysis programme(PMNDP) this unit in Tawang has capacity for five  patients, there is also a RO water treatment plant attached with this unit having capacity to treat 300ltrs of water in a day, an official sourrce in Tawang said.

Chief minister further assured that he would accord any necessary help in this regard. This dialysis unit at Tawang district Hospital will be free of cost and will cover two districts West Kameng and Tawang. Till date nearly 27 patients died of renal failure and lack of dialysis unit in Tawang alone informed  Medical Officer in-charge for NCD Dr.Sangey Thinley of district hospital Tawang.

After the inauguration of this dialysis unit Pema Khandu along with HMLA Tawang , Tsering Tashi, DC Tawang Sang Phuntso and other senior Health Department officers meet the patients in maternity and general patient ward.
