Garo Hills NH-51 rock fest in December

TURA: Nine upcoming bands from all over the state have been selected to perform in the NH-51 Garo Hills Rock Festival to be held at Asanang about 18 kms from Tura on December 7 and 8.
The members of the A’chik Rock Musicians Association (ARMA), Tura, held a meeting and finalised the list of bands. Altogether, 21 entries were received from upcoming bands based in different parts of the state. While 17 of them were accepted in the beginning, only nine bands were shortlisted to perform in the event.
The bands which will be performing in the rock festival include Jagringrang from Shillong, Souls of Distortion also from Shillong, Wings of Life from Tura, Born Victim from North Garo Hills, Unheard from Shillong, Skubo from Tura, Souls of Eros and Wrath Befall, both also from Tura and Reputed Band Vignettes from Manipur. All nine bands will be performing on December 7.
Eight other reputed bands will also be participating in the rock festival. The bands which will be performing on the second day include Goera, Rich Rocker, Ultimate Page, Eye to Eye, Suicide Notes, Titans, Black Jack and Rough Roads.
The two day mega event will also be showcasing local cuisine and delicacies as well as international branded automobiles like Harley Davidson, Audi and others.
The committee also met the DC and the SP of the district in connection with law and order and traffic management during the two-day event.
