Shillong: School children of Class VI – XI of BK Bajoria School animatedly explained their projects to parents and guests who visited the IT Exhibition at the School. It is evident that those who put up their projects on display knew what they were doing and knew the use of Information Technology to the hilt.
A young boy of Class I was the driver for what was assembled by senior students out of discarded materials to be a Go-Kart. The features are # 14,000rpm/speed, #With LED lights, #Three inbuilt songs for kids and #Chargeable battery with 12V 7.2 AH. At first the little boy drove the machine tentatively but soon got control over it.
Present at the function as the guest of honour was Prof Ayon Bhattacharjee, Professor of Physics, National Institute of Technology, Shillong, who was also a past pupil of the school.
Chief Guest, Patricia Mukhim, Editor, The Shillong Times said that while technology was today an inevitable part of life it should not replace the human brain.
“It is important for this country to create the space and provide opportunities for innovations in the IT sector so that India invents and does not become only a market for products.
