“The allegations which appear in the paper (The Shillong Times) today (Thursday) against the Education Officials of Ri Bhoi District is completely false and baseless. My name and the Union were being misused by unknown persons to create misleading information to the public. I on behalf of the Garo Students’ Union, Killing Jorbil Unit, would like to clarify here that we did not make any such allegations against the Education Officials” Sangma said in a press communiqué.

He also said that the news item published was surprising to him since he neither sent nor forwarded any such news to any media houses and that the Union would soon find out the real culprit who was trying to malign his image and that of the Union.

Members of the Khasi Students’ Union, Northern Border Area led by Prince Sylliang who visited the spot today for verification on the allegations made against the Education Officials of Ri Bhoi District in presence of the GSU Killing Jorbil Unit leaders and after meeting with the Managing Committee members of the Garo Medium LP School, jointly clarified that there were no such schools where non-Garo speaking teachers were appointed nor any bribes were taken by the education officials as alleged.
