Two held for attempting theft
Mahendro Kumar Sharma of M/s Marwet Oil Services Pvt. Ltd., 9th Mile Baridua in Ri Bhoi and one other lodged a complaint that on October 31, miscreants went to the petrol pump and attempted to snatch money from the staff and cash counter. Again, on November 1, the miscreants waited in the retail outlet and wanted to meet the owner for negotiation. In this connection, Police arrested two persons namely Bhan Prakash and Ramesh Prasad.

Miscreants intimidate forest officer
Terakchi K Marak, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, East & North Garo Hills (T) Division, Williamnagar (East Garo Hills) lodged a complaint that October 26 around 6 pm, she was informed that after the office picketing by NGOs was over, miscreants went to her office compound and burnt something made of paper. The NGOs have reportedly targeted the Divisional Forest Office and intimidating the complainant for not allowing PWD (Roads) Williamnagar to construct an approach road over Rongap River, which is in violation of Forest (Conservation) Act 1980 and directives of Supreme Court.

One injured in accident
On October 25 at 10.45 pm, one truck (number not known) dashed against one motorcycle (ML-05H-8411) ridden by Pynskai Rymbai (30) at Khyndailad, Shillong. As a result, one pillion rider sustained injuries.

Men fail to pay fine for stealing cattle
Hatilson Sangma lodged a complaint that on the night of September 21, two persons identified as Daniel Ch Marak and Rithu D Shira, stole one cattle and slaughtered it at Samgong Bazar (East Garo Hills). During enquiry by the village functionaries, the accused persons admitted to have committed the crime and agreed to pay Rs. 15,000 in addition to value of the stolen cattle, but failed to do so.
