TURA: Cooks cum helpers in lower and upper primary schools in Garo Hills have submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma urging that Grade IV scale pay is also given to them instead of the current lump sum amount.

The workers under the banner of the Cook cum Helpers Association, Selsella Zone reminded the CM of the promises to look into the grievances faced by lower and upper primary school teachers and urged that their demand is also looked into at the earliest.

“We as cooks for MDM are getting a meager Rs 1000/- per month. We hope that the government will fulfill our demands so that we too can make a decent living,” the association said.
