Year of the Youth of Tura Diocese concludes

 TURA: The organization of various activities the whole year through by the Diocesan Youth Commission marked the celebration of the ‘Year of the Youth’ among Catholic faithful in Tura. Diocese of Tura had dedicated the year 2018 as the Year of the Youth in view of the Synod 2018 which was held recently in the Vatican.

 During the observation, various activities like Parish Visit, Competitions, Pilgrimage, Youth Cross- being carried out to each parish etc were held. On November 3 and 4, 5 delegates from each parish turned up for the celebration of Conclusion of Year of Youth and Annual Eucharistic Procession. On Saturday afternoon, Drawing and Quiz Competitions were conducted in Cathedral Hall. Fr Lawrence Khing, the Youth Director of Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) celebrated the Holy Mass at 3 pm and urged the present young people to love the church more devoutly.

 In the evening, the Core Team Members led the Taize Prayer in Sacred Heart Shrine where many faithful came over to pray in silence. Former Diocesan Executive Committee (DExCo) members were also honored during the Felicitation.

 On Sunday morning, Fr Lawrence took a short session on the activities of youth being done in Kohima. 174 delegates from Garo Hills’ parishes also participated in the Annual Eucharistic Procession in the Sacred Heart Shrine.

 A report on the year of the youth was given by Fr Lyngdoh and the Youth Prayer recited by all faithful as well as the Youth Anthem sung by delegates on the concluding day.
