Civic Board warns of action against littering

TURA: Littering continues to plague the small town of Williamnagar in East Garo Hills even as instructions for keeping the town clean as per the provisions of the Municipal Rules 1973 was issued by the Municiapal Board recently.
According to an official notification issued in this regard, dumping and throwing of waste materials and garbage, etc. on the foot-paths of the main road and common areas of the town, rivers and streams thereby causing pollution has resumed despite a prohibitory order promulgated in February, 2016.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the WMB on Tuesday warned of stern action against any persons found violating the instructions and littering the town’s localities.
