Defence Minister visits forward posts along India-China border

GUWAHATI: Defence Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman undertook a tour of the forward areas in Dau- Delai and Lohit Valleys on Wednesday. She first overflew the forward most post of Rochcham near India – China border and thereafter visited Hayuliang.

 

At the forward post, the Defence Minister celebrated Diwali, distributed sweets among the troops and wished them prosperity and happiness. She appreciated the zeal, enthusiasm and dedication of the troops who are stationed in these high mountainous areas and ensuring the sanctity of Indian borders.

 

At Hayuliang, the Defence Minister also interacted and distributed sweets to local civilians and GREF personnel. During the visit, the Defence Minister was accompanied by Lieutenant General M M Naravane and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Command and Lieutenant General Gopal R, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps.
