Tribute to Assam fame Bhupen Hazarika

GUWAHATI: A tribute was paid to Dr. Bhupen Hazarika at the district library auditorium by Madhya Guwahati Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Smriti Rakhya Sanity (MGBHSRS) in Guwahati on Tuesday.
The programme was attended by Assam Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal, Padmashri Ajoy Dutta, Media Adviser, Rishikesh Goswami, Parliamentarian, Ramen Deka and others.
Several yesteryear singers, lyricists and musicians performed at the event.
The programme started with an opening song by 75 participants chorusing the famous Manuhe Manuhor Babe followed by a multilingual song presentation, Bistar Hai Opar, in Bengali, Hindi, Assamese and Sanskrit languages by Nibedita Dey & Group.
Students of different schools presented various songs and dances to pay their respect to Hazarika. An art competition was also organised on the occasion.
