WGH tops in Measles-Rubella vaccination

TURA: West Garo Hills District has reportedly topped the state with regard to the implementation of Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC) by achieving 97 per cent on Wednesday as 166855 beneficiaries have received vaccination out of the total target of 172082 children in the district.
This was informed during the 4th District Task Force Committee (DTFC) meeting held at Tura Circuit House on the same day where Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman District Health Society, Ram Singh, District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO), Dr M R Sangma and other health officials were present.
During the meeting, while assessing and reviewing the performance of the district, the DC congratulated all those involved in the immunisation process for their support and hard work towards the successful implementation of the immunisation campaign in the district in spite of few refusal pockets and hard to reach areas. He also expressed his gratitude to the heads of schools in the district for their support and cooperation during the campaign.
