MAWKYRWAT: United Democratic Party (UDP) Mawkyrwat Circle president, who is also a candidate for the upcoming 2019 MDC election, Anvil Lyngdoh, on Tuesday admitted of split within the party after the declarations of the party ticket, however it is considered negligible.
“It is common in every political party, there are always discontentment among ticket aspirants as those who failed to avail ticket go against the party,” Lyngdoh said, adding that it is worth mentioning that those members who are planning to join HSPDP and claimed to be tall leaders were the fellow men who joined our party before the last Council election 2014, without any principle.
He also accused those leaders who are planning to join the HSPDP that their intention is to obtain maximum benefit for self interest from the MLA and their motive is just to enroll themselves as full fledged members of the HSPDP and they don’t care even to the extent of dissolving the UDP.
“They have no support in the party and none among members of primary unit are not willing to sing their chorus. Our supporters and leaders across the constituency are aware of our support to the HSPDP- UDP alliance in the last Assembly election and that at present we are fighting the Council election 2019 and we are very much confident to win,” Lyngdoh said.
Therefore, Lyngdoh requested all the supporters not to be misled by the rumours as the party was intact and most of the party functionaries are working tirelessly.
