SHILLONG: The high-level committee (HLC) on Harijan Colony will go through all land documents before it holds a meeting next week.
Sources said the panel would study the reports and documents submitted by the Shillong Municipal Board and Office of the Land Records and Survey.
The committee, in its next meeting, will ask the Syiem of Mylliem to provide all details of the colony.
Earlier, the Directorate of Land Records and Survey conducted its land survey in the area. The civic board too conducted similar exercises.
HLC’s mandate is to examine relevant records and documents and suggest a permanent solution to the issue of relocation of the Harijan Colony.
As the HLC did not meet for quite some time, there were demands from various NGOs in the state to fast track its work.
