SHILLONG: The special Assembly session to pass the rectified resolution on Khasi-Garo language is likely to be held on November 27.
An official source said there is a suggestion to hold the special session on November 27. The House had unanimously passed the resolution in this regard on September 27.
However, since the resolution had mentioned about the hurdles to fulfil the criteria such as creation of Sahitya Akademi or Sabha and the use of Khasi as the medium of instruction in educational institutions, the Khasi Authors’ Society had urged the government to remove these hurdles from the resolution so that the Centre will deal with the resolution without any prejudice.
The new resolution will remove the hurdles as mentioned in the first resolution.
