36 persons arrested under ME Act

TURA: 36 persons have been arrested under section 53 (1) (a) of the ME Act during raids conducted by the Excise Department of West Garo Hills in the months of September and October this year.

The raids conducted in the entire district led to the detection of 39 cases including 1 unclaimed case as well as seizure amounting to approximately 34.74 litres of IMFL, 101.4 litres of Beer and 8.75 litres of ID Liquor. A total of 104 cases were disposed off and fine amounting to Rs 83,300/- realized.
