SHILLONG: Congress legislator PT Sawkmie has congratulated HS Thangkhiew for being appointed as the new judge of the Meghalaya High Court.
He said the appointment of Thangkhiew as the judge of Meghalaya High Court is an honour to the Khasi community and the people of the state as a whole.
“An advocate from our state occupying a high post in the High Court shows that our people have the capacity and caliber like other people in the country”, Sawkmie said in a statement on Sunday.
He added that it will also inspire and encourage the youth of the state.
Earlier on February 26 this year, the recommendation was made by the Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court and the Meghalaya government had no objection in appointing Thangkhiew as the new judge of the Meghalaya High Court.
