Five pick-up vans carrying coal seized

SHILLONG: After trucks, coal is now being transported illegally in smaller vehicles in West Khasi Hills.
Around Saturday midnight, West Khasi Hills police spotted five Bolero pick-up vans, all with Assam registration, at Sekunbari under Aradonga outpost.
On seeing police, the drivers ran away abandoning the vehicles.
Police found that the vehicles were loaded with coal. Investigation is on to find the owners of the vehicles.
