Mawhati MLA works with NPYF to ensure poll victories

NONGPOH: Mawhati MLA, Dasakhiatbha Lamare with support from workers from the National People’s Youth Front (NPYF), a youth wing of the National People’s Party (NPP) has started initiative to strengthen the party base in Mawhati Assembly constituency in particular and other constituencies in general in Ri-Bhoi district in the forthcoming MDC and MP polls.

He held a meeting on Monday with NPYF leaders to discuss strategy for the forthcoming polls to ensure party’s victories in MDC and MP elections.

The party meeting which was held at Umiam was also attended by state NPYF leaders including the chief organiser, D S Malai, general secretary, Petrus Rymbai, finance secretary, Esron Marwein, Shillong City in charge, Daniel Nongrum, NPP Mawhati block president, RM Mukhim and others.

Various issues concerning the upcoming MDC polls were discussed at length during the meeting including strengthening the party at the grassroots level in order to achieve comfortable victory in all five constituencies of Ri Bhoi district.

Dasakhiatbha Lamare while speaking to his party workers of the NPYF Mawhati Block urged them to work hard for the party more than before since the MDC polls are just around the corner.

“I am optimistic that the party which already has two MLAs in the district will sweep victorious in all five constituencies of Ri Bhoi district in the upcoming MDC polls,” Lamare said during the meeting.

He also exhorted the party workers of Mawhati in particular and the district as whole to be humble and work hard for the uplift of the society not just during elections times but in their day-to-day life.

Other party leaders who spoke at the meeting said that the party was gaining momentum with the coming days as most of the youths who are the future of the state, have recognised that NPP as the only party that is capable of bringing about a change and overall development to the state.
