Shillong Endurance Motorsport Challenge from Nov 22

SHILLONG: The Shillong Endurance Motorsport Challenge is all set to begin from Thursday.
The three-day event will be held at Iew Shyllong Umtyngngar and the event is being organised by Shillong Endurance Motorsport Club in collaboration with Meghalaya Aids Control Society.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, general secretary of the Club, Vicky Kharkrang said that the event will have different categories like 4X4, Motocross cycle and non gear scooters.
Alex Kharkongor, Assistant Director (IEC), MACS said that motor cross event is a platform through which the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society is looking to create awareness about HIV and encourage healthy behavior among the youths.
Barry L Kharmalki said the event will be helpful in creating awareness about stigma and challenges which HIV patients and drug users face.
Last time, around 120 participants took part in the event and this time too, the organisers are expecting a horde of participants from across the region.
The organisers have also printed pamphlets which speak about the need to end HIV/ AIDS and to promote the idea of fighting AIDS and not people with AIDS
