AGARTALA: A division bench of High Court of Tripura directed CBI to complete all formalities including to bring out necessary notification from Ministry of Home Affairs for beginning investigation into the crore of rupees scam of Non Banking Financial Companies (NBFC) in the state.
Hearing the public interest litigation (PIL) on Tuesday regarding cheating of peoples’ money by the ponzy firms in past few years, the bench comprising of Chief Justice Sanjoy Karol and Justice Arindam Lodh expressed unhappiness over the progress of CBI investigation into the cases.Earlier, left front government had sent five NBFC cheating cases to CBI but those were tagged with other cases but after BJP-IPFT government came in power all 77 such cases have been referred to CBI for investigation. The state government had also issued necessary notification in July this year but CBI is not yet started the investigation.
The court has been reported although the state government sent entire case details to CBI and issued notification, the mandatory notification from Ministry of Home Affairs under Delhi Special Police Act has not yet been published, which prevented CBI to proceed for investigation. (UNI)
