Assam govt pays compensation to kin of Thursday’s blast victims

GUWAHATI: In a prompt action Assam government has provided Rs 5 lakh each to  next of the kin of the two persons who were killed in the bomb blast that occurred at Demow town in Sivasagar district of eastern Assam on Thursday evening.

The MLA of Thawra constituency, Kushal Duwari on Friday handed over the cheques on behalf of Assam government to the kin of the deceased. Deputy Commissioner, Pallab Gopal Jha also met the kin of deceased at the office of the Circle Officer  in Demow.

The two persons killed in the blast which occurred at a hardware store in Demow, were identified as Kamal Agarwal and Anup Gupta.
Meanwhile, security has been geared up in the entire district of Sivasagar in close coordination with the State Police and other security agencies. A massive manhunt has been launched to nab the assailants suspected to be from banned United Liberation Front of Assam (Independent).
