Divorce cases
A total of 277 married couples divorced in 2017-18 according to information provided by the Executive Member (EM) in charge of General Administration Department (GAD), Rona Khymdeit. Replying to a supplementary query raised by People’s Democratic Front (PDF) MDC, Hadrian Lyngdoh on the reason for the divorce, Khyndeit said that the reasons for divorce are unknown as the Executive Committee does not deal with such cases except the District Council Court.

Market complex
Executive Member (EM) JM Tynsong has informed that the market complex at Nongstoin, which houses 145 individual shops, has been completed at a total cost of Rs 5.64 crore and will open on December 8. Tynsong also stated that the reason behind the delay of the inauguration was because of electricity installation.

CCTV
The total number of CCTV cameras installed within the premises of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) is 24 – 12 in the executive building, 4 in the Court building and 8 in the Legislative building. The total cost of installing the cameras are Rs 13,65,268, Rs 11,41,808 and Rs 2,23,460 in the year 2013 and 2018 respectively. One theft case was also detected through the CCTV cameras in 2014 which helped apprehend the culprit.
