Kite festival in WJH on Dec 7-8

SHILLONG: “Reliving the memories, Kite Festival” will be organised by the Rympei Ventures Private Limited under the banner of online portal rympei.com at Mada Wahsalu, Sabah Muswang Village, West Jaintia Hills District on December 7 and 8.
Addressing the press on Tuesday, Pyndap Lawriniang, director of Rympei Ventures Private Limited said the kite festival aimed to revive traditional games and kite flying which is hardly seen nowadays.
Lawriniang added that participants can bring their own kites or can get them from the venue of the event, the winners of the kite fight will be awarded while the best and most attractive kites will also win awards.
With an aim to promote local artistes, music, culture, the festival will also put on display the traditional weapons used by the locals along with traditional food, drinks and others.
