Workshop on baking, cooking underway at Aminda Rangsa

TURA: Cooking and Baking classes under Women Activities for womenfolk in the region is currently underway at Aminda Rangsa village under Gambegre Block in West Garo Hills.

The five day workshop which began on November 26 is being organized by the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur under the Ministry of Culture in India in collaboration with Arts and Culture, Government of Meghalaya and will conclude with a valedictory programme on November 30.

During the workshop, participants are being taught how to make plain vanilla cake, chocolate cakes, banana cakes, bread and salted and other biscuits. The art of making salads with creative designs including cutlets, chops etc is also being taught by trained resource persons.

The objective of the workshop is to train the participants in various styles of baking and cooking in order to provide opportunity and necessary skills for different types of cuisines which would be an added feature for their business undertaking in future.
