Budgam (J&K): Naveed Jutt, a terrorist allegedly involved in the assassination of journalist Shujaat Bukhari was shot dead in an encounter on Wednesday.
The encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Chathergam village of Budgam on Wednesday morning.
This is the second terrorist allegedly involved in Bukhari’s killing who was gunned down by security forces.
On November 23, in another encounter, security forces neutralised Azad Malik, allegedly involved in Bukhari’s killing, in Sekipora area of Bijbehara in Anantnag.
Naveed Jatt, who hailed from Multan in Pakistan, was the most wanted LeT commander in Kashmir.
He was wanted for the murder of “Rising Kashmir” Editor Bukhari in Srinagar on June 14.
The Pakistani was operating in south and central Kashmir.
Intelligence agencies believe he was playing a major role in trying to woo the local youth towards militancy. (Agencies)
