Assault
Abdulla Sheikh of Bagicha village in South West Garo Hills lodged a complaint stating that on November 23 around 6:30 am, twelve persons identified as Rikash Rezzak, Rubina Ahmed, Zamat Sheikh, Anowara Bewa, Abul Hussain, Alom Miah, Ejajul Hoque, Atowar Miah, Ashdul Islam, Solibor, Sonakul and Dulali Bewa had trespassed onto his paddy field and stolen the crop. When the complainant along with his mother and son tried to restrain them, the trespassers assaulted them and threatened them with dire consequences. The accused also outraged the modesty of his mother.
Body recovered
The body of Shankar Dutta (26) was recovered from an abandoned coal quarry at Wahmana in East Jaintia Hills on Thursday after police were led to the spot by the accused identified as Md. Imran Hussain. The body was sent to CHC Khliehriat for PM examination. Dutta, who was an employee of M/s Jaintia Cements, Umpleng, had been reported missing on November 26.
Dras Siangshai, Headman of Moolamanoh village in East Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint stating that on November 25 around 1pm, he had received information that a dead body was lying at Sorkari village under Moolamanoh.
Man crushed to death
Abhiranjan Kumar of M/s BSC-C&C JV Company lodged an FIR stating that on Wednesday, Janstar Kurbah (35) who worked as a contractual employee of the company was accidentally crushed by a hydraulic crane at Kynshi in West Khasi Hills. He was taken to U Tirot Sing Syiem Memorial Hospital, Mairang, where the attending MO declared him brought dead.
Missing
Rawati Joshi lodged a complaint stating that on November 19 around 7:10am, her son Ashok Joshi had gone missing from their residence at the PHE office compound in Lower Lachumiere.
Theft
Debojit Roy of M/s JUD Cements Ltd., Wahiajer in East Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint stating that on November 27, unknown miscreants broke open the lock of the central store.
Gurcharan Singh Sodhi of M/s Meghalaya Cements Ltd., Thangskai in East Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint stating that on November 26 and 27, unknown miscreants stole 500 pieces of ‘steel cooler plates’ valued around Rs 18 lakh from the Steel & Equipment Yard Store of the company at Thangskai.
Gresian Sangma (23) lodged a complaint stating that on November 25 around 10pm, unknown miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle (AS-01BB-4719) from Mallapara village in West Khasi Hills.
Threat
Diona Dkhar lodged a complaint stating that on November 26 around 7 am, Pogal Nongsiej entered her house at Mawlyngkhung village in Ri Bhoi and threatened her and her husband at knifepoint.
