SHILLONG: The ANVC has made it clear that the organisation has not projected any Khasi Hills areas to be included as part of the peace settlement.
Certain pressure groups and political parties in Khasi Hills had already raised the issue of inclusion of many Garo dominated villages from Khasi Hills under the proposed Greater Garoland by ANVC.
They said the map of ANVC contained several areas of West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi.
However, ANVC leaders Dilash Marak and Wanding Marak said the question does not arise as the Greater Garoland is no longer their agenda.
The ANVC had scaled down from their earlier demand of Greater Garoland to strengthening of GHADC.
The area of Greater Garoland had included parts of Assam, Bangladesh and some contiguous parts of West Khasi Hills.
However, the ANVC leaders said their current focus is on strengthening the district councils and added that Greater Garoland does not figure in the agenda.
