Food inspector shot at in Assam

Haflong(Assam): An employee of the Assam government’s Food and Civil Supply department was shot at by an unidentified gunman at his office in Dima Hasao district, police said on Sunday.
According to police the gunman entered the Food and Civil Supply office at Haflong Government College Road here on Saturday and shot at Food Inspector Donald Dibragade, 37, from close range.
After firing two rounds at Dibragede, the assailant fled away, they said. He received serious injuries and was immediately rushed to Haflong Civil Hospital for treatment, police said, adding that investigation into the incident was on. The police arrested two persons for their involvement in the shooting of Dibragede. Haflong DIG D Upadhaya said “Babu Chetri, the owner of a fair price shop in Haflong, had some dispute with Dibragede over some official work. (PTI)
