SHILLONG: The East Garo Hills Government Registered Contractors Association, Williamnagar has petitioned the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma for payment of fending payable Bills of contract works at an earlier date.
The association said the contractors are facing difficulties with running their households as their payable bills kept fending without any payment even after the works have been completed. The association urged the CM to make the payment of the final bills preferably before Christmas.
The association also urged the government to come up with a new scheme under the Williamnagar Division (PHE), East Garo Hills so as to provide adequate supply of water to Williamnagar town and to rural areas in East Garo Hills.
Further, the association said that the Water Resources Department (Irrigation) has not come up with any new scheme during the last five years and urged the CM to look into the matter.
