One killed
On December 8 at 8.30 pm, an accident took place between one Maruti Alto-800 (ML-06A-0910) driven by Ekjabingstone L Nonglait and a Tata Sumo (ML-04B-1990) driven by Stevenroy Nongbet at Umjei, West Khasi Hills. As a result, driver of the Maruti Alto-800 died at the spot. Necessary formalities were observed.
One held for abducting minor
A complaint was lodged that on December 5 morning, one fourteen-year-old girl was found missing from her residence at Soba Jambal, North Garo Hills. During enquiry it transpired that Samuel J Sangma (45) had confined the girl in the house of Christina Marak. Later, the girl was rescued and Police detained Samuel J Sangma.

Theft
Angel Kharjahrin lodged a complaint that on December 7 around 5.40 pm, Kyrshanbor Syiem (24) snatched her carry-bag containing clothes and one cell-phone at Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills and fled.

Motorcycle stolen
On December 3 at 7.30 am, miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-07A-6254) belonging to Sengdal Sangma from Nogol Bazar, North Garo Hills.

Teacher’s services terminated
Jedin M Marak lodged a complaint that he was appointed as Assistant Teacher of Renegre Upgraded LP and UP School. However, the Managing Committee failed to disburse his salary from January to August 2017. Further, the complainant alleged that he was arbitrarily terminated from his service on August 21, 2017.
