TURA: The three petrol pump employees from Nongalbibra in SGH, who were kidnapped three days ago, were released unharmed at Gare Nawak near Nengkra in East Garo Hills district on Thursday.
Shib Kumar Patel, Dharmendra Patel and Witley Sangma were abducted from Amasa petrol pump in Pathargittim under Nongalbibra police station on December 10 by five armed men.
When contacted, SGH SP Abraham T Sangma confirmed the release and said that all three were set free in the afternoon and are currently in police custody.
“We hope that the victims cooperate with us so that the culprits can be nabbed soon,” Sangma said.
It is being suspected that the three were released after payment of ransom.
