SHILLONG: Local MDC from Nongthymmai Latiplang Kharkongor will soon meet the Chief Election Officer (CEO) to seek clarification on the new enrolment of voters for the Lok Sabha elections.
He raised a concern that outsiders could get an opportunity to secure themselves an EPIC which is not a welcome development.
“People from outside who arrive in the state are able to secure an EPIC and to fill the gap of voters in the enrolment list is not appreciating at all,” he said.
He said the CEO has advertised for the enrolment of more than 70000 voters for the MP election from November till February.
