Three minors among 13 injured in accidents

SHILLONG: As many as seven persons were injured in separate accidents across the state on Christmas Eve. Most of the road mishaps occurred as the drivers were under the influence of alcohol, report said.
17-year-old Eddison Warbah sustained injuries as the bike he was riding skidded at Mawlai Syllaikariah around 1:13 am. Victim was in inebriated state.
Anushree Paul (30) was injured when the driver of the vehicle she travelling in fell asleep and hit the safety railing at Byrnihat around 6:47 am. The victim was shifted to GNRC, Guwahati by 108 Byrnihat based ambulance.
In another incident, an inexperienced learner driver hit a group of people who were on Christmas carol on the road side at Raja Apal, East Garo Hills. As a result, Menalis Momin (40), Chima Marak (12), Tulika Sangma (12) and Tamat Sangma (6) suffered minor injuries.
The victims were shifted to Bajengdoba PHC by 108 Rari based ambulance.
In yet another drunken driving incident, Silias Rymbai (28) and Dilip Langdon (27) sustained injuries when their vehicle hit a truck and then an Alto car. The driver was in inebriated state and lost control.
30-year-old Tapos Saha sustained injuries when the scooty he was driving hit an electric pole. Victim was under the influence of alcohol.
Jiedlang Khongsit (35) and Rapai Gunin (45) were injured when their vehicle overturned. The victims were in inebriated state.
On December 23 at 11.45 pm, one vehicle driven by Chelang Siangshai collided head-on with another vehicle driven by Helmison Phai at Morlang area (West Jaintia Hills).
