Houses gutted
On December 25 around 9.30 am, fire broke out in the houses of Pobin Ch Marak at Joyram village under Dangar OP (EKH) and the house was completely gutted.
Assault victim dies
On December 25 around 9 pm, a group of persons (15/16) assaulted Martino Shylla (40 yrs) at Amtapoh village (WJH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and later succumbed to his injuries. In this connection, eleven were apprehended by the residents of Amlarem while they were attempting to flee in a Tata Mobile vehicle (ML-05J-0617) after assaulting the deceased victim. They are Synshar Mynsong, Rejes Uriya, Subash Uriya, Jun Malakar, )Pinku Uriya, Arba Uriya, Santo Uriya, Ranu Uriya, Monto Uriya, Mithu Uriya and Subrato Malakar.
NGT violation
On December 25, Nongpoh Police detected fifteen trucks (AS-01-FC-4865, NL-01-AA-9525, ML-10B-7544, AS-01-HC-0797, AS-01-HC-0188, AS-01-EC-2559, AS-01-DC-3472, AS-01-CC-5875, ML-11-0149, AS-01-EC-2992, AS-01-HC-0036, AS-01-HC-5961, AS-01-GC-5612, AS-01-GC-7996 & ML-05L-7665) transporting coal without proper documents. Case is being registered against them for violating NGT / Supreme Court order.
Dispute
The Secretary and Waheh Shnong of Sabahmuswang village (WJH) jointly lodged a complaint on December 22 that Waheh Shnong of Ialong village disrupted the Dorbar Shnong by putting up signboards in the village which reportedly claimed that the area falls under Ialong village.
Kidnapper arrested
On December 17, police arrested Jimbirth R Marak @ Jerry of Reserve Rong’krekgittim village (SGH) in connection with kidnapping case under Siju PS.
