Items distributed to poor families

SHILLONG: Distribution of items to the poorest of the poor was organised by Ka Shlem Jingiarap ia Kiba duk tam u Rupang which was held at Mawkhar Christian Higher Secondary School on Friday.
It was organised for the eighth time and there were seven beneficiaries from across the state who received necessary commodities from the organisation.
The beneficiaries were Phibawansuk Kharkongor from Nongrim Sadew, Suren and Injona Thangkhiew from Nongkseh, Upper Shillong, Ribaniar Khongmawloh from Phlangtyngor (Pynursla block), Dril Nongsiej from Mawphlang, Pdiang Kharkrang from Langwa (Sohiong), Phila Lynshing from Khlieh Umrnong (Nongkya, Ri Bhoi) and Globinda Pale from Kyndong Tuber.
Speaking as the chief guest, principal of Mawkhar Christian Higher Secondary School, R.S. Syiem thanked the donors extending help to people in need.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, the beneficiaries expressed gratitude and thanked the organisation for extending necessary blankets, mattress, utensils etc to them.
Most of these beneficiaries are farmers and are involved in other manual labour.
