One killed in accident
On December 26 around 5.45 pm, one motorcycle (ML-14-0024) ridden by Rakman Sangma (30) dashed against a Tempo (ML-08B-6864) driven by Ramen Shira (22) at Bainapara village (SWGH). As a result, driver of the tempo, rider and pillion rider of the motorcycle sustained injuries and were shifted to CH Tura, where the pillion rider identified as Sajan Sangma succumbed to his injuries.

Man held for assault
Syeda Semina Serin Sultan of DAD Residential Complex, Demseiniong in Shillong lodged a complaint that on December 28 around 4 pm, S. Mynthong Haokip of the same Complex assaulted the complainant and her child. Police arrested the accused.

Four coal-laden trucks seized
On December 13, police detected four Mahendra pick-up trucks (AS-25-CC-8427, AS-25-CC-4613, AS-01-KC-1624 & AS-25-DC-4020) driven by Md. Ajhar Ali (22), Md. Hamidul Islam (23), Rupen Biswas (27) and Rosiul Hussain (30) respectively, while transporting coal without valid documents near Wa’geasi OGC (North Garo Hills). Police seized all the four vehicles and arrested the drivers.
