Woman’s body found
On January 4, body of Lovely Rupsi (45) was recovered from Mawsmai village, Ri Bhoi. Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was sent to CH Nongpoh for PM examination.
One held for supplying drugs to inmate
A complaint was lodged that on January 3 around 2 pm, Shankar Yadav (26) handed over tablets wrapped in hundred rupees note to one under-trial prisoner Raju Biswa, while he was being produced in the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class at Shillong. Police arrested the accused.

Motorcyclist killed
On January 3 around 1 pm, one motorcycle (TR-01J-9823) ridden by Bijay Kumar Rai, skidded on the road at Jyntru (Ri Bhoi). As a result, the motorcycle rider sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Nongpoh, where the attending MO declared him brought dead.

Accidents
On January 3 around 2.30 pm, one Maruti car (AS-14-7275) driven by Walseng K Sangma (36) collided with one motorcycle (ML-09A-2154) ridden by Nabaruddin Ali (37) at Matrongkolgre, Zikzak (South West Garo Hills). As a result, both the driver and motorcycle rider sustained injuries and were shifted to PHC Zikzak.
On January 3 around 9 am, one Bolero Camper (ML-05N-8763) driven by Coldbiness Kharraswai (24), fell down into a gorge at Riat Thawlong, Mawkyrwat (South West Khasi Hills). As a result, four female occupants sustained minor injuries, while two female occupants sustained grievous injuries and were shifted to a hospital in Shillong.

Theft
On January 3 at 7 pm, miscreants stole five cell-phones, three Wi-Fi Routers, Rs. 9,000 cash, wrist watch, power bank, etc, from the house of Pukar Khati at Rngijynriew, Nongthymmai, Shillong.
On January 1 around 8.30 pm, a person identified as Raj stole one cell-phone and cash Rs. 5,000 from the house of Alisha Lamin at Demseiniong, Shillong.
On December 18 around 2.30 am, miscreants stole on motorcycle (ML-08F-0277) belonging to Brian Hirack M Sangma from Te’teng A’ja (West Garo Hills).

Threatened
Womli Chyrmang, Headman of Jalaphet Bri Sutnga and others lodged a complaint that on January 1 around 7.45 pm, two persons identified as Jong Chyrmang and Ting Chyrmang armed with daggers threatened the office bearers of the village with dire consequences.

Unclaimed body
A male body had been lying unclaimed for the last one week in the morgue of Williamnagar Civil Hospital thereby causing harmful effects to the surrounding.
The Sub-Divisional Medical and Health Officer, in this regard, requested the Deputy Commissioner to give an order either to the Police department or the Municipal Board to dispose the body from the morgue.
