TURA: The A’chik Youth Welfare Organization (AYWO) has expressed utter disappointment over the passing of the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 and termed the move as the ‘dictatorial mindset’ of the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government.

“The CAB 2016 is communal in nature and the content of the Bill is divisive which can possibly transpire into serious law and order problem in the whole of North East India. Despite massive protest against the bill in whole of NE, Narendra Modi went against the sentiments and genuine concern of Indigenous Tribals of NE.This proves that the BJP and its allies only think about its political advantages without considering the survival of the indigenous community,” the AYWO release said.

The organization said the controversial bill favours refugees by granting them citizenship at the expense of national security paving the way for influx plagued North East States to become a safe haven for foreigners.

“It seems that the government of the day in Delhi doesn’t care about the Well being of Indigenous people of North East. AYWO is apprehensive, that after the passage of the said bill, the idea of ‘Separatist’ is spreading  among the masses and ‘Anti India’ feeling is culminating strongly in the Youngsters’ mind of NE and AYWO genuinely fears that the  ‘Unity in Diversity’  will be compromised if the said bill goes through and became an Act. The passing of ‘Communal’ and ‘Divisive’ Bill is adding much needed energy and reason for ‘Anti India’ felling among Indigenous Tribe of NE and this will break up ‘United India’ in long run,” it added and warned that the region will be forced to rethink its association with the Indian nation and ask for political autonomy for the North East.

The AYWO warned the central government not to create a warlike situation in the North Eastern region and refrain from working against the interest of the people by giving due patronage to the illegal immigrants.

“The AYWO stands for Democratic, Republic and Secular India and will never allow any force to suppress our birthrights as our love for our Motherland is infinite,” the organization reiterated.
