TURA: Organizers of the ‘Garo Hills Super Challenge’, a singing and dancing competition have been accused of duping participants by cancelling the finals of the competition and absconding in their native village of Derek in Goalpara, Assam after collecting fees from participants.

According to allegations made by one, Alora Momin of Baghmara in South Garo Hills, auditions for the talent show were taken in the months of September to November for which the participants were made to pay an amount of Rs 200 as entry fee. However, after all necessary payments were collected from participants the organizer has delayed organizing the grand finale with no information to the participants till date.

The complainant alleged that the organizer cheated participants from all over Garo Hills by announcing separate dates at separate programmes held at Ampati, Baghmara and Rongjeng for the grand finale to be held in Tura.

The complainant has urged deputy commissioners and concerned authorities to look into the matter and take legal action against the alleged ‘fake program organizer’.
