TURA: The Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) now has a new Secretary after incumbent Secretary of the Executive Committee H A Sangma was given a promotion.
Rikse R Marak, MCS was recently appointed as the Council’s new Secretary by Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, District Council Affairs Department, T Dkhar following Sangma’s promotion to the post of Principal Secretary to the Executive Committee.
According to a notification, Marak would be functioning in her new posting with immediate effect from the date of taking over charge. Meanwhile, besides functioning as the Principal Secretary to the EC, outgoing secretary Sangma will continue to hold the post of District Council Court Judge until further orders.
