Girl accuses boyfriend of committing rape in Guwahati hotel

GUWAHATI: A 22-year-old girl from Nalbari in Assam has filed a case against her boyfriend accusing him of committing rape on her at a hotel in Paltan Bazar here along with a fiend.

The girl had been allegedly drugged before she was sexually assaulted.

The incident took place at the Suncity Hotel on January 1. The prime accused who is the victim’s boyfriend, has been identified as Muhammad Imdadul Islam (24). He hails from Chotobozra, Hazirhat in Dhubri in western Assam.

Police informed that the victim who hails from Namati Pohati, Nalbari, had come to Guwahati to celebrate New Year’s Day with her boyfriend. Upon arriving in the city, they met at the hotel where Islam had booked a room (Number 309) through OYO Rooms.

Later in the evening, Islam’s friend joined them and allegedly spiked the victim’s drink and food with sedatives. Once the victim lost consciousness, the two boys allegedly raped her all the night.

The victim finding herself alone in the room when she woke up in the morning, her repeated calls  to Islam  unanswered, filed a case at the Paltan Bazar Police Station accusing rape by Islam and his friend.  Police have launched a search to nab the culprits.
